Counselling & Psychotherapy in Bridlington & Online
If you’ve arrived here, it’s likely you're searching for a safe and nurturing space.
Whether you’re facing grief, trauma, creative blocks, or feeling a desire to reconnect with your inner self, know that your story is valued here. I am here to offer gentle, trauma-informed support that combines emotional understanding with a touch of creativity. Together, we can explore your journey at your own pace, embracing compassion, curiosity, and care as we go.
I've created a reflective journal with the hope of supporting your journey toward gentle healing and creative self-care. Each page is filled with my wildlife illustrations, which I hope bring you joy and inspiration. I also shared a short video on YouTube that highlights some example pages, giving you a sense of the journal's tone, layout, and the comforting animals accompanying its prompts. I warmly invite you to take a look, as this journal can be a nurturing space for your thoughts and feelings.
My name is Adele, and I am a Senior Accredited BACP Counsellor/Psychotherapist (aligned to Column C in the SCoPEd framework) and Clinical Supervisor based in Bridlington.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Counselling Studies, achieving a 2:1 classification, and I earned a Postgraduate qualification in Counselling and Psychotherapy with distinction, along with an Academic Achievement Award, from York St John University.

With over 17 years of extensive experience in both professional and voluntary settings, I have had the privilege of working with individuals facing a wide range of complex issues and conditions. My approach to counselling is informed by a deep understanding of therapeutic modalities, allowing me to tailor my techniques to the unique needs of each client.
My counselling journey was profoundly influenced by my own life experiences, which ignited a passionate commitment to support others grappling with emotional and mental health challenges. I believe in creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings, ultimately empowering them to embark on their path to healing and personal growth.
I recognize that opening up about sensitive topics can be daunting, which is why I am committed to fostering a secure and confidential environment for you.
My goal is to provide unwavering support as you navigate these discussions.
Together, we can explore meaningful changes in your life or discover and develop various coping strategies that resonate with you, empowering you to face challenges with confidence and resilience.

Addiction
Grief, loss or bereavement
Trauma
Abuse
Problems with confidence or self-esteem

Anger
Sexuality
Issues with family or work life
I'm committed to creating a space where you feel supported, safe and challenged thoughtfully and constructively.
Our work together will be shaped by Hawkins and Shohet's (1985) Seven-Eyed Supervision Model - a framework that takes into account not just your work with clients, but also your experiences as a practitioner, our supervisor relationship and the wider context that influences clinical practice. It offers seven different lenses to help us reflect deeply and flexibly on your work.
What I value most about this model is how it encourages us to stay curious and reflective, while attending to the broader systems around us - whether that's your workplace, your client's environment, or even the dynamics in the room between us. I hope this approach will help you grow in confidence, expand your clinical thinking and feel well-supported in your professional development.
At the heart of my supervisory practice are the values of:
